We (family of four) rented a car from melbic for 55 days and our experience was great. The handover was quick and everything was well explained. The camping equipment had all we needed and the hardtop roof tents were really great, comfortable and easy to set up/pack. When we had inquiries or small issues during the trip, they always answered quickly and helpful. Also the hand off at the end was very efficient and uncomplicated. Melbic is definitely recommended if you want to experience wonderful Namibia in a reliable car.

Don't rush the briefing. Understanding your vehicle and its 4x4 systems before heading into the Namibian wilderness is the best preparation you can make.
Practise 4x4 engagement
Ask to engage high and low range 4x4 in the yard. Melbic staff will show you when to use each setting — sand, gravel, and mud all require different approaches.
Check all camping gear
Verify the tent, sleeping bags, cutlery, stove, and any optional extras. Confirm the second spare tyre is mounted and inflated before you sign off.
